A hard gold-plated parabolic mirror projects the measurement spot onto itself. The radiation emanating from the object is thus "captured". Multiple reflections in this area result in a significantly higher radiance than the object surface emits. With the LT15 EB it is therefore possible to record the temperature on shiny, highly reflective surfaces without contact.
